The Vergelesses vineyard is located in the North-East of the appellation, bordering “Pernand-Vergelesses” appellation. Facing south and well drained, it always gives fresh, complex and mineral wines with a good amount of chalkiness.
Steep slopes composed of sandy marl and limestone. Whole bunch pressed, lightly crushed, alcoholic
and malolactic fermentation in barrel, “sur lies” without “batonnage.”
They use 25 % new French oak barrels, from Jupilles forests and all the viticultural, vinification and ageing operations are carried out with reference to the lunar calendar.
This wine delivers on all cylinders. Its powerful aromas of mineral and green apple bright up the palate and last long on the finish. Pair it with grilled swordfish. Wilfred Wong – 91
