Second vintage with Penelope Godefroy, and at the start of the organic conversion. This is lovely, already accessible with its dark brambly fruits and soft tannins. The emphasis here is definitely on pleasure, and it’s extremely tasty as a result.
Drinking Window 2018 – 2030
Two different wines are produced on the domain : the Great Wine, Château Siaurac and the second wine, Plaisir de Siaurac.
Its 40 distinct plots of gravel, deep clay, sandyclay, grown according to their individual needs, bring great balance, charm, and much generosity.
The vineyard is made up of 75% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 5% Malbec.
The soils of the whole of the estate are now managed with the aim of adapting to the specific conditions of each plot and each vintage, carefully respecting the biodiversity naturally present in the vineyard. Controlled natural grass cover crops are grown, or cereals or legumes are seeded in the rows. Ploughing in the rows as well as under the vines is also done. Two harvest reception lines, each equipped with sorting tables, enable each plot selection to be brought in at optimal ripeness. The vinification is carried out in temperature controlled concrete vats.
Vatting times range from two weeks to one month depending on the ripeness of each lot.
