Tasting notes

The 2016 Achelo shows an intense ruby-purple color. The nose offers notes of spices in excellent balance with aromas of red currants and blackberries. The palate is supple, with soft tannins well integrated with the notes of liquorice and red fruit, and the finish and aftertaste are long and savoury.

Altesino Brunello Di Montalcino “Montosoli” 2011


Montosoli is in fact a vineyard of about 5 hectares to the north east of Montalcino at an altitude between 350 and 400 metres, whose grapes were fermented and aged separately for the first time after the 1975 harvest. The composition of the soil (marly limestone and siliceous limestone representing the Alberese era with lithoid components dating from the same period), the unique position and particular microclimate contribute to ageing the grapes which produce an extremely complex and elegant wine

Bramito 2017


The first vintage of Bramito to be produced was the 1994. The Castello della Sala estate, purchased by the Antinori family in 1940, is situated some 10 miles (18 kilometers) from the city of Orvieto and is a very interesting example of medieval military architecture. The micro-climate of the property, on average cool for central Italy, is perfect for the production of white wines and of Pinot Noir .

Straw yellow in color with light greenish highlights, the wine offers delicate aromas of ripe tropical fruit along with light hints of citrus fruit. The palate shows both structure and elegance, a bracing acidity, and a  pleasurably savory finish and aftertaste.

Tasting notes

The wine, a light straw yellow with brief greenish highlights, expresses rich, complex, and intense aromas. The notes of citrus fruit, pears, and acacia flowers are in perfect balance with the sweet and spicy notes of  vanilla. A wine of the aromatic intensity and silkiness of texture was something rather unexpected in such a hot vintage as the 2011. The Merlot gave sweetness of flavor, density of texture, and a very intense aroma of black fruit. The Cabernet Sauvignon contributed an exceptional richness along with additional black fruit aromas, liquorice, and not the slightest hint of greenness. Cabernet Franc added a magnificent balance and poise, smoothing the elevated tannic power of the other varieties and, finally, the Petit Verdot supplied that light touch of spice which completed the bouquet. This is a concentrated wine, one of great class and elegance, a wine capable of a very lengthy aging and positive evolution in the bottle.

The different varietals were fermented separately in small steel tanks to maintain their varietal characteristics intact. The alcoholic fermentation was followed by malolactic fermentation, again in steel tanks. The wine was then aged for 10 months, partly in barrique used for Ornellaia and partly in cement tanks, to obtain the perfect balance between tannic structure and an expression of fresh fruit.

The 2009 Solaia shows a ruby red color. On the palate the wine is smooth which is the result of perfectly ripe grapes along with sensations of coffee, chocolate, mint, and licorice. The wine impresses for its finesse and structure, and is characterized by great elegance and aging potential, with its soft and velvety tannins.

A very intense ruby red with purple highlights, the 2013 Solaia shows aromas of ripe red fruit, pleasurably fresh and vibrant, accompanied by balsamic sensation of liquorice and mint. The palate, initially elegant, becomes full bodied with tannins of much shape and solidity.
