Tasting notes

The 2016 Achelo shows an intense ruby-purple color. The nose offers notes of spices in excellent balance with aromas of red currants and blackberries. The palate is supple, with soft tannins well integrated with the notes of liquorice and red fruit, and the finish and aftertaste are long and savoury.

Château de Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape Rouge 2014

The slow maturation of the red grapes and long vinifications provided aromatic wines with freshness and finesse. The Syrah is gorgeous and Grenache is fruity and balanced. This 2014 offers wines with lots of fruit and balance. The tannins are soft and silky, with lots of volume

VARIETALS Cinsault : 5%, Grenache : 30%, Mourvèdre : 30%, Vaccarèse, Terret Noir, Muscardin, Clairette, Picpoul, Picardan, Bourboulenc, Roussanne : 15%, Counoise : 10%, Syrah : 10%

Château de la Nerthe 2015

It is a wine of expression, with an intense nose on notes of fruits and spices. The palate is characterized by the finesse of tannins which is the signature of La Nerthe wines. The final is long, rich, unctuous. It is accessible young, however, a few years of bottled up do him the greatest good by developing wealth and complexity. Its aging potential is important. A few decades do not worry him. It will only be better.

Château Minuty 281, 2017

Tasting notes

Colour : Pale with translucent reflections.
Nose : Strong intensity with beautiful complexity and an aromatic fineness of white fruit (peach, melon…), accentuated by iodine notes.
Flavors : Great depth with a mineral structure.

Clos Mogador 2015

On the nose it is both complex and pleasing with aromas of ripe red and black fruits which marry perfectly with the notes of liquorice and chocolate. On the elegant, beautifully dense palate, we can detect hints of spiciness overlaid with smoky, peppery woodiness. The tannins are persistent and tightly knit with a finesse which allows an astonishingly prolonged aftertaste. This is a thoroughbred of a wine encompassing elegant, enduring qualities. Although quite magnificent now, if you can hide it away somewhere for a few years, you will not be disappointed!

Domaines Ott Clos Mireille 2017

The wine is a very pale pink highlighted, depending on the vintage, with golden, orange and even vermilion tints. Its bouquet reveals fresh fruit (mango, melon) punctuated with lemony notes. On the palate, its freshness develops through citrus aromas around a resolutely mineral core before ending with a subtly persistent finish.

E. Guigal Gigondas 2014

Vintages 2014

The Wine Advocate – Dec. 2016

Score : (88 – 90)

The 2014 Gigondas has put on weight since I tasted it last year and reveals a healthy ruby/purple in addition to a terrific perfume of flowers, kirsch, garrigue and even a hint of blue fruits. This pure, ripe and nicely textured Gigondas will drink well on release and keep for a decade. Jeb Dunnuck.

Gaja Ca’ Marcanda Promis 2016

A soft and fruity red with subtle tannins, light chocolate and currant character. Medium finish. Succulent and delicious. Drink now.

90/100 James Suckling

Ca’ Marcanda’s 2014 Promis is bright, tense and nicely focused throughout. Sweet dried cherry, tobacco, licorice and mint open up in this attractive, mid-weight wine. Overall, Promis is a solid showing for the vintage, but it should be enjoyed over the next year or two, as the flavors are starting to dry out.” – Antonio Gallonio, Vinous (Nov 2016)
